Welcome to Constantinos S. Chassapis' web page
I was born in a suburb of Paris, France sometime in the sixties. I was educated
in Greece and France. I grew up, in a suburb of Athens, in a vivid and
multifarious family environment where my Swedish mother and my Greek father, a
cinematographer, infused into me a well-balanced interest about almost
everything around me. My grandfather by being an astronomer infiltrated to me
scientific notions very early in my life. I live in Athens, Greece, with wife,
who is a pianist.
I hold a University degree in Physics (1988, University of Ioannina, Ioannina,
North-West Greece). I hold a PhD in Computer Simulation of Physical Systems
(2000, Chemistry Dept., University of Athens, Athens, Greece). I hold two MCP certifications and
several other IT-related professional certifications (SQL, HP, Citrix, Siebel, etc,.)
I work (since November 2000) in Algosystems S.A., an IT Company based in Athens,
Greece, as a New Products Development Manager. I am also writing a book on Quantum
Computing. I like writing, teaching, contemplating about Art and building my
web site (http://amorphousart.gr).
Member: ACM (since 1997), IEEE (since 1996).
A work of fiction of mine (a novel under the Greek title HA!)
has been published in 2000 by editions Propobos, Stournari 47, Athens.
"An Introduction to Quantum Informatics", Draft version of a forthcoming book
Indivicual sampled Chapters can be downloaded below
I have co-authored several scientific papers, for example:

PhD Thesis under the supervision of Dr J. H. Petropoulos and Prof. D. N. Theodorou.
PhD awarded with grade "Arista" (excellent) by the Chemistry Dept. of the University of Athens, Athens, Greece in March 2001.
Current Research Interests
Entropic measures of pre-meaning, Quantum Computing, neural networks, diffusion in simulated amorphous polymeric materials, fractional diffusion equations.
Current effort concentrates on the development of the pre-meaning theory as a new measure
for natural languages and symbolic series. A short introduction can be found

Among various activities on which I have participated during the last 10 years, I pick:
Sep - Oct 2000: I participated on the ICANN@Large election procedures. I was placed
28th among 70 candidates with votes originating from more than one
Jun - Jul 1995: I was
invited as Visiting Research Scholar and worked on Quantitative analysis of
X-ray diffraction from superlattices using multi-dimensional optimisation and
stochastic simulation at Rutgers University, New Jersey, and at Los Alamos
National Lab., New Mexico.
Nov 1994 - Feb 1995: I organized and taught a weekly class on advanced scientific computing and I was
honoured with the active participation of my co-students at the National
Research Center for the physical Sciences Demokritos (Athens, Greece). Parts of
the notes from these lectures are now publicly available on my web site.
